I'd always wondered about the La Grange Dredge. So I took my brave student teacher, Breyton, with me in early January to check out the monstrous remains of an amazing piece of gold recovery technology. It still sits in its last pond, mostly intact.

I was in La Grange last weekend and while at the saloon asked about how to get to it, apparently it's now closed off to everyone. I was under the impression (from California Gold) that you could visit it, but they had it fences off to actually get into it, it sounded like you can't get close enough now to see it at all.
