The best way to experience the geosciences is to get out and explore the world! It is my hope you'll be able to use these photo journals as inspiration to find your own adventure. Descriptions and distances for each hike are revealed when clicking on a place mark on the map or a thumbnail on the left. Hiking routes can also be downloaded from within the description. Enjoy!
(PS - The button link to the Cal Department of Fish & Wildlife "High Mountains Lake Database" shows which lakes have fish and which lakes are fishless. Many lakes have had the non-native trout removed in order to restore the aquatic ecosystems, which is a great thing. The database might help the fisherpeople in the audience target specific lakes while avoiding others.)
